    Here is a pre 1897 Oberst’s shoulder board from Hesse-Darmstadt. The shoulder board features a brass button that helps secure it to a tunic. It also sports the Oberst’s two brass pips, which display the Grand Duchy’s brass crown in their centers. The board boasts a silver bullion Russian rope background that is further embellished with Hesse-Darmstadt’s emblematic, red and gold chevrons……
