IRON CROSS – 1914 – 1st CLASS THREE- PIECE SCREWBACK
This is a 1914 Iron Cross 1st Class. It is very slightly vaulted. The obverse’s paint rates at about 85%. The reverse reveals a backing plate cut in the shape of another Iron Cross, instead of more the commonly-seen circular one. The locking nut sports a small handle. This is yet another mark of the Iron Cross’s excellence. No hallmarking for manufacturer or silver content appears.
