BADEN – RIBBON BAR – TWO PLACE

This is an extremely fine two-place ribbon bar, most likely worn by a native son of the Grand Duchy of Baden. In the first place to the left we see a ribbon and crossed swords for the Knight’s Cross with Swords of the Order of the Zähringer Lion in 1st or 2nd Class, an officers-only level decoration. The actual decoration is one of the Imperial German Period’s most handsome decorations.

The two place ribbon bar is yellow and green, with gilt, crossed swords and black and white for the 1914 Iron Cross 2nd Class.

It has a dark-blue felt backing. It shows a moth nip or two, which indicates honest age.

The ribbon bar measures 2″ x 2 ½”.

The condition of the obverse’s ribbons is excellent.
