BAVARIA – PRINZ ALFONS SHOOTING BADGE – 2nd CLASS
Prinz Alfons of Bavaria was a very popular royal in Bavaria and beyond. He did serve in the army even acquiring the rank of General, but he never held command authority. He was a cultured man and was more of a scientist. After WW I he sponsored a shooting badge for shooting competitions. This badge was awarded in both a 1st and 2nd Class. Today we offer the 2nd Class version. It is silver while the 1st Class was gold.
The badge portion has Alfon’s royal cypher surrounded by a wreath of oak leaves.
This silver badge is placed over a blue ribbon with narrow white bands on the outside. These colors are Bavarian. On the reverse there is a sturdy pin. It is manufacturer hallmarked.
The badge is in excellent condition in every way.
