On the reverse of the platter we see the name of the manufacturer “ “Leithmann Weiden” located in Bavaria.

If any of our readers can help us determine who the personage is we would be most appreciative.

UPDATE – One of your collectors has provided us with some information tha may further identify this item:

“PS: I love doing historical research for fun. I just remembered that about 1 1/2 years ago, I did some research on the oval platter with an unknown royal cypher that was listed on your website. I found out that the manufacturer, Seltmann Weiden Bavaria, was still in business, so I contacted them and asked if they could help me identify the platter. The company was founded in 1910, so they technically could have been a Royal Warrant holder by appointment to the Royal Court of Bavaria, but it looks like they weren’t. In their reply, the customer service representative also told me that the platter probably had been made per customer order, but, unfortunately, they no longer would have any records from that period (understandably).”

Did you end up finding out more about it?

The platter is in excellent condition.
