Gustav Leffers was an early winner of the PLM. He flew with several early aviation units until he was posted to the newly created Jasta 1. He won his PLM on 5 November 1916. He was killed in action on 27 December 1916. Leffers is seen in a studio pose. He is not wearing his PLM. He is wearing the Prussian Army pilot badge, 1914 Iron Cross 1st Class, and the 1914 Friedrich August Cross 1st Class. The postcard while not mailed, does have notes on Leffers career by a German collector.

While Seydler is wearing a German officer’s uniform, he sports a Turkish officer’s headdress. On his tunic is a Bavarian Army Pilot Badge, Iron Cross 1st Class and a Turkish decoration. He also wears the ribbons for the Iron Cross 2nd Class and another decoration, which may well be the Bavarian Military Merit Order 4th Class. The postcard was not mailed.
