This is a fine color postcard that shows the royal yacht S. M. Y. Hohenzollern as she passes under the Levensau Bridge on the Kaiser Wilhelm Kanal. The canal was an outlet to Kiel, then to the Baltic Sea. It saved about 250 nautical miles and eliminated rounding Denmark’s Jutland Point. The royal yacht was white with gold trim, and exemplified Germany’s power and prestige wherever. She sailed. The postcard was not mailed.
