IRON CROSS – 1914 – 1st CLASS – ENGRAVED VAULTED
This 1914 Iron Cross 1st Class is a real treat on a number of levels. To begin, the Iron Cross is a high-vaulted example. Its paint is topnotch and rates 100%. The beading is also quite pleasing and the frame’s patina is just fabulous. As we look at its reverse, the Iron Cross just gets better. First, we note that the silver content is .935. This is the second-highest silver content that you will ever see on an Iron Cross. Only .950 is higher. Next, we see the engraving listed below on the cross’s four arms.
Twelve o’clock arm: Elisabeth.
Three o’clock arm: Tom.
Six o’clock arm: Elisabeth (in Fraktur).
Nine o’clock arm: Raimund.
It is a spectacular Iron Cross in every way.
