This is a very difficult-to-find enlisted man/NCO single epaulette from the Saxon Garde-Reiter-Regiment. It is, in fact, a heavy Kavallerie regiment. [The Garde-Reiters, along with the Regiment der Garde du Corps, sported what has become the two most popular helmets among collectors. These were the Saxon Lion and Prussian Eagle-topped parade pickelhauben for the respective regiments]. The epaulette is gilt-toned. It displays a large crown for the King of Saxony. The epaulette is all metal. It sports a blue underlay, which confirms its regiment. The epaulette is in very fine condition.
