Count Ferdinand von Zeppelin (1838-1917) was born in Konstanz where he later began construction of his Zeppelins.

Extremely scarce,  pre-WWI die-stamped, metal and enamel, lozenge-shaped badge, in the form of an Imperial eagle, the central disc emblazoned with a ‘Z’ crossed by an airship.

Maker’s mark for Mayer & Wilhelm, Stuttgart.
