Germany – Pocket Watch – Manfred Von Richthofen
This is a most interesting watch which is quite unusual as the dial displays twenty-four hours so it would have been appropriate for use as a military watch, most likely for a pilot.
On the face of the dial we see a full color image of Manfred von Richthofen along with his red Fokker Dr 1 triplane in hot pursuit of an English airplane.
The watch which is fully functional, has a nickel case (A high grade of silver.) and the reverse has a decorative design with numerous vertical stripes and an oval area where the owner might have had his initials engraved. This has however not been done. In looking at the movement of the case as well as the dial we see that this watch was manufactured by the well-known Swiss firm OMEGA and is of the highest quality. In order to make this a twenty-four watch a special movement was designed. Again we remind you that this is an unusual twenty-four watch which were commonly used by pilots. Please note this watch is a commemorative to von Richthofen and we make no assertions that it actually belonged to him.
