This is an autographed postcard of General der Infanterie Rüdiger Freiherr von der Goltz (1865-1946). He held commands on the Western Front but is best known for his post war action against Finland and Estonia.

He is dressed in dress uniform with epaulets. He is holding his pickelhaube with General officer parade feathers in his right hand. He has no less then three breast stars on his tunic. Also a six place medal bar with the 1870 Iron Cross 2nd Class with twenty-five year Oak Leaves. He is wearing the Pour le Mérite at his throat a parade sash with another order attached. This was a highly decorated officer. Interestingly while he is noted as a Freiherr, we have also seen him addressed as a Graf.

On the reverse, we see a message dated May 1919 from Berlin. There is also a fairly lengthy message addressed to Paul Baer.
