Description
Germany – Postcard – S.M.S. Schleswig-Holstein Battleship
The S.M.S. Schleswig-Holstein was the final ship of the Deutschland Class of battleships. She was commissioned in 1908 and was assigned to II Battleship Squadron as she was outdated when WW I began. She saw service at the Battle of Jutland where she was lightly damaged.
At the end of the war Germany was allowed to keep her due to her age. She saw service in the Reichsmarine and Kriegsmarine during WW II.
The postcard was never mailed and is in excellent condition.
