This postcard started life as one that would have been used for the Imperial Period’s (Kaiser Zeit) Air Mail. Mention of that fact has been blacked out. Instead, it was mailed as a postcard regarding German technical or engineering prowess.
It has been stamped with the date, 12 April 1938. A swastika appears on the stamp.
The date stamp is repeated at the top over a postage stamp that depicts von Hindenburg in profile. A message is on the reverse.

This is an original photograph that has been printed on postcard stock. The view shows the Kronprinz from behind. He is partially turned, however, and it is clearly him. Whoever mailed this wrote below him “Kronprinz.” He is surrounded by numerous officers standing in front of a tent. He is speaking to a General. Another three are standing behind him.
On the reverse we see that this was mailed as a Feldpostkarte. It is written in the purple grease pencil that was so commonly seen at the front, and in most field and administrative offices. In addition to the text, we see two unit stamps. First is for Feld-Flieger Abteilung Nr 34. The second is a stamp for K.D. Feldpostamt des VI. Reservekorps. The stamp is dated 22 May 1915.

This is an NPG Postcard featuring Leutnant Frank Seydler. He was attached to the Turkish Air Service and served during the Battle of Gallipoli. While Seydler is wearing a German officer’s uniform, he sports a Turkish officer’s headdress. On his tunic is a Bavarian Army Pilot Badge, Iron Cross 1st Class and a Turkish decoration. He also wears the ribbons for the Iron Cross 2nd Class and another decoration, which may well be the Bavarian Military Merit Order 4th Class. The postcard was not mailed.
