GERMANY – SANKE CARD – RITTMEISTER MANFRED FREIHERR von RICHTHOFEN AND FOUR FELLOW PILOTS FROM JASTA 11 – NR 511
Jasta 11 was the most famous German squadron of WW I. Manfred von Richthofen was given command of it in January 1917 shortly after he received the Orden Pour le Mérite. He is seen with four of his fellow pilots from the squadron. From left to right there is Vizefeldwebel Sebastian Festner (12 victories), Leutnant Karl-Emil Schäfer (30 victories), Manfred von Richthofen (80 victories), Lothar von Richthofen (40 victories), Kurt Wolff (33 victories).
This is one of the most prized of the Manfred von Richthofen cards as it shows him with many of the leading pilots of Jasta 11.
This Sanke card Nr 511 is in excellent condition. It was never mailed.
