This is a large table medal that features the Graf von Zeppelin, and measures 2 3/8″ in diameter. The obverse displays a high-relief three-quarters-view of the German nobleman who began lighter than air aviation at the turn of the 20th Century. His name also appears on the obverse. Its reverse shows a zeppelin in the sky. Below that we see the legend “Das Ende Krönt Das Werk” (The end crowns the work). Below that we see a man and woman, with the words below them, “Bewunderung und Entsetzen” (Admiration and astonishment).
