This is a consignment item. It is a high-quality 1914 Iron Cross 2nd Class with the Non Combatant’s Ribbon. The cross is not hallmarked. Its paint rates right at 100%. The gray case measures 3/4″ x 2 ½” x 4 3/10.” The upper lid is covered with white silk. Embossed on it are an Iron Cross and the legend “Zur Erinnerung an Deutschlands große Zeit” (In remembrance of Germany’s Great Time). The case’s lower half is fitted to hold the cross. Just above it is a fitted compartment in which the non combatants’ ribbon is folded.

An unexpected extra is a miniature 1914 Iron Cross lying in the case. It is very detailed for its size (9/16″ x 9/16″). It has two small holes in its three o’clock and nine o’clock arms. Think of it as a small bonus! This is a very fine combination.
