This is a color postcard of the small cruiser S. M. S. Lübeck. She was commissioned in 1905, and was one of seven Bremen Small Cruiser Class ships. She participated in the Battle of Jutland (Skagerrak). After the war she was delivered to England, where she was scrapped in 1922. The postcard shows her steaming at sea with smoke boiling out of all three funnels. The postcard was never mailed, but its upper left corner displays printed technical information about her.
