  • Circular silver medal
  • Loop for ribbon suspension
  • Face with the crowned cipher of Duke Wilhelm within an oak wreath
  •  Correct ribbon, red edged with yellow stripes
  • Excellent example of a rare award

The Order was founded on 25 April 1834 by Grand Duke Wilhelm in memory of his grandfather Karl Wilhelm Ferdinand. The silver honor award was added on 25 April 1903 , to be awarded for long and faithful service. It was suppressed in 1918, only 1,804 awards of the decoration having been made.
