This is a plaquette for a participant in a regatta for young people. The plaquette measures 2 5/8″ x 1 5/8.” It has a black frame with a silvered metal center. It also features an enameled Hohenzollern Eagle at the bottom. At the top of the plaquette is “Jugendruderverband.” In the silvered area we see a 1914 Iron Cross and “Doppel-Zweier m. St.” Below that in the black area again is “II.Kriegsruderregatta.” Also, the date appears, which was 10 September 1916. So, this is the second year of the same regatta! It is heartening to see that the young people kept up their sporting activities, AND managed to show their patriotism at the same time!
