PRUSSIA – EPAULETS – OBERLEUTNANT – DRAGONER-REGIMENT NR 7 – IN THE ORIGINAL STORAGE CARTON
This is a fine pair of epaulets for an Oberleutnant who served in Westfälisches Dragoner-Regiment Nr 7. This regiment was created in 1860 and garrisoned at Saarbrücken where it was attached to the XXI. Armeekorps.
The surface of the obverse is red felt. Attached to that is a brass pip for rank and the regimental number “7″. The metal moon that surrounds this is also brass. The tongue of each epaulet is silver bullion and there are two black stripes which confirms that this is a Prussian regiment. The reverse of each epaulet is also covered in the same red velvet. These very handsome epaulets are complete with the original storage carton which has protected them for more than one hundred years.
