PRUSSIA – STEIN – VETERAN – ARTILLERY
This is a reservist stein for a man who served from 1895-1897.
The center panel has information about the unit. On either side of a Prussian Hohenzollern Eagle we see the names of the men who were his comrades in the regiment.
On either side of the central panel we see scenes showing artillery in action and of a caisson being pulled into action.
Atop the stein we see a pewter top. The thumb device to open the stein is a Prussian Eagle with wide spread wings. We also see a cannon with two cannoneers beside the field piece. One of the men no longer has a head as it has broken off at some point in time.
Inside the stein we see a typical lithophane which shows a soldier and his sweetheart.
Apart from the damage to one of the men on the lid, this stein is quite nice condition.
This is a consignment item.
