This is an identified pre war dark blue visor cap for an NCO who was assigned to Pommersches Pionier-Bataillone Nr 2. This unit was created in 1816 following the Napoleonic wars and was based at Stettin where it was a part of the II. Armee-Korps.
The top of the cap is a dark blue. There is also a black center band. Further there are three red trim bands. The cap has a black visor and the Kokarden for Prussia and the Reich are in place in the center of the cap.
Inside the visor cap we see a brown leather sweatband. Inked on that is the name of the soldier which is “Theis” and he served in the 1st Kompagnie of the Bataillone. There is normal wear to the sweatband. The liner appears to be made of a durable cotton. Overall very fine condition.
