Handsome reserve officer pickelhaube for Infantry-Regiment Großherzog von Sachsen (5. Thüringisches) Nr 94 from Saxe-Weimar. This regiment was founded in 1762 and was assigned to XI. Armeekorps.
Battalion Nr I was garrisoned at Weimar.
Battalion Nr II was at Eisenach.
Battalion Nr III was at Jena.
The leather body of the spiked helmet is in excellent condition. The furniture of the helmet is gilt toned with the exception of the coat of arms for Saxony and the reserve officer cross which is in silver. The correct officer kokarden for state and reich are present.
Inside the helmet we have a gently used leather sweatband. The silk liner has a small tear which measures approximately 1″. All of the original hardware is in place and there are NO double holes.
This is a superb pickelhaube in EXCELLENT condition and would be a wonderful addition to any collection.
