This badge is shaped into an eagle. It measures 1 1/4″ x 3/4.” It has two prongs on its reverse. It almost looks like a badge that was attached to a visor cap.
Spanish badge from the “Franco” era (1939-1975). This CAP badge was used from 1941 to 1975, (even to 1978 in some cases), by the infamous “Policia Armada”, (they were known as the “Grises”, the “greys”, due to the color of their uniform).
This “Policia Armada”, (Armed Police”) were the political police during the Dictatorship. A very repressive police force that breaks strikes, student demonstrations, etc… They were known for the use of violence & torture.
I really believe that this cap badge you’re offering it’s from the late 60’s – early 70’s, due to back pin. Not before.
