This is a very handsome medal bar with three places. It has an interesting combination of decorations. They are, from left to right:
*1914 Iron Cross 2nd Class.
*Hanseatic Cross – Hamburg. The decoration has light surface chipping on both the 12 o’clock and 3 o’clock arms.
*Landwehr Long Service Medal 2nd Class.
With the exception of the previously-noted chipping on the Hamburg Hanseatic Cross, the other decorations and ribbons are in very fine condition.

*Friedrich Order Knight’s Cross 1st Class with Swords – Württemberg. It is a fine example, with only a little scuffing on its enamel arms. This is a very high level award and is more frequently seen in the 2nd Class than the 1st Class. I actually thought this was a 2nd Class until corrected by a sharp eyed reader.
*Hindenburg Cross for Combatants with Swords.
*Landwehr Reserve Long Service Award – Württemberg.
This is a fetching medal bar. Both the decorations and the ribbons are in fine condition.

The Verdienstkreuz für Kriegshilfe (Merit Cross for War Aid) was a wartime civil decoration from Prussia. It was awarded for patriotic war aid service, especially on the home front. Its obverse displays Kaiser Wilhelm II’s royal cypher. The reverse exhibits the legend, “Für Kriegs Hilfsdienst” (For War Aid Service). It is set up as a one-place medal bar. Both the decoration and medal are in excellent condition.
