German 1914 Iron Cross 1st Class Pillow Back in Presentation Case

This 1914 Iron Cross 1st Class is an ultra-high quality privately purchased example with a unique "pillow back" design. The low vaulted Iron Cross exhibits a fine patina and smooth, even beading on the frame. The paint on the obverse is complete but shows signs of age on the arms. The reverse of the cross is manufacturer marked and .800 silver, with a sturdy catch and a thin pin.

The presentation case is black leatherette with a silver pasted-on label of a 1914 Iron Cross on the outer lid and undamaged white silk on the upper lid. The case has a rich purple velvet bottom and the Iron Cross fits snugly inside.
