This richly detailed Imperial German beer stein embodies the craftsmanship and patriotic symbolism of late 19th to early 20th century Germany. The stein is molded from stoneware in a traditional cylindrical form, finished in deep cobalt blue, earthy brown, and ivory glazes.

A large, high-relief central motif features the Imperial double-headed eagle surrounded by a laurel and ribbon medallion—an unmistakable nod to the Second Reich’s national pride. Oak leaf and acorn designs, deeply carved and highlighted in contrasting glazes, wrap around the body, symbolizing strength and endurance. The raised bands at the rim and base showcase detailed rope and leaf patterns in ivory and russet, lending added depth to the design.

The interior rim is stamped with the capacity “1/2L,” denoting a half-liter pour. There is a minor chip at the lip, which does not detract from its impressive visual appeal or structural integrity.

Condition:
Very good overall with age-consistent wear. Minor chipping near rim. No cracks or repairs. Crisp detailing and vibrant glaze.

Display Suggestions:
Perfect for a glass-front bookshelf, beer stein shelf, or study with Imperial German décor. Adds a bold visual anchor to any collection of militaria or Germanic folk art.

Historical Context:
These types of steins were often produced for patriotic civilians or veterans' organizations in the years leading up to WWI. The use of the crowned double-headed eagle places its origin in the Kaiserreich era (1871–1918).
