This is an original Königreich Württemberg officer's commission document, dated May 12, 1918, issued under the authority of Wilhelm II, King of Württemberg. It formally promotes Vizewachtmeister Adolf Sidler of the Landwehrbezirk Calw to the rank of Leutnant der Reserve in Train-Abteilung Nr. 13.

The document is exquisitely designed with elaborate calligraphy, bearing the official embossed seal of the Kingdom of Württemberg, and features a bold autograph signature of King Wilhelm II. Additionally, it is countersigned by the Württemberg Minister of War, General Karl von Marchtaler.

The paper shows some minor wear and slight edge damage but remains in excellent legible condition, making it a remarkable piece of Imperial German military history.

Historical Context:

This document was issued near the final months of World War I, during a time when the German Imperial Army was struggling on multiple fronts. Officers in Train-Abteilungen (Supply and Transport Units) played a crucial role in maintaining logistics for the war effort.

King Wilhelm II of Württemberg remained a figurehead until the German monarchy was abolished in 1918, making this a late-war document of great historical significance.

This is an excellent addition to any Imperial German document collection, particularly for those interested in the military structure of Württemberg.
