Step into the rich history of the German cavalry with the Attila for a Wachmeister in Husaren-Regiment Nr 3. The rank of Wachmeister held a unique position within the German army, comparable to that of a Sergeant or Sergeant Major in other branches. This particular Attila belonged to the esteemed Husaren-Regiment von Zeitzen (Brandenburgisches) Nr 3, a regiment with a proud heritage dating back to 1730. Stationed at Rathenow and attached to the III. Armee-Korps, it served under the reign of Frederick the Great, participating in numerous battles that shaped Prussian history. The regiment also fought valiantly during the Napoleonic Wars, and King Friedrich Wilhelm III, who originated the Iron Cross in 1813, led Prussia during that period. In addition, campaign medals were crafted from melted-down French cannons, a tradition continued during the Franco-Prussian War of 1870-1871 under King (later Kaiser) Wilhelm I.

This Attila is meticulously tailored from high-quality red wool that has aged beautifully over time. While it shares the distinctive red color with the Attila from the Leib-Garde-Regiment, the similarities end there. The Attila for Husaren-Regiment Nr 3 features white facings instead of yellow, and all the buttons are silver-toned, tightly secured in place. The white shoulder straps bear buttons with the number "1" denoting the 1st Eskadron, a great honor for the soldier assigned to it, as it was considered the finest in the regiment. It can be presumed that this Wachmeister achieved this rank and status after years of dedicated service.

The collar of the tunic showcases more white trim, complemented by silver buttons denoting the rank of Wachmeister. The reverse side of the tunic is equally exquisite, featuring elaborate designs.

Opening the tunic reveals a fine red silk interior, showcasing signs of age and use that add character to the piece. There is a small moth nip on the silk liner. However, the exterior of the tunic is in excellent condition, with only five small patches of minor moth tracking. This Attila is a dream piece, deserving of a collector who will appreciate and care for it with utmost devotion.

Immerse yourself in the legacy of the German cavalry with this extraordinary Attila for a Wachmeister in Husaren-Regiment Nr 3, a true testament to the dedication and honor of those who served.
