This line officer kugelhelm from the Kingdom of Württemberg is a remarkable artifact for any Feldartellerie-Regiment. Württemberg boasted four Feldartellerie regiments, including Nr 13, 29, 49, and 65. This helmet could be accurate for any of these four regiments. The Kingdom of Württemberg, once a sovereign state in Germany, merged with Baden and Hohenzollern to form the German state of Baden-Württemberg in 1952.

Made of fiber with a high gloss finish, this helmet likely dates back to after 1900, as fiber was not as common as leather and was a significant upgrade over it. Some of the regiments were created in 1899. Minor cracking is present at some points, but it does not detract from the overall presentation.

All the helmet's furniture is made of brass, and the wappen is particularly stunning, with a brilliant fire-gilded finish. The correct state and reich kokarden are present. Especially noteworthy is the Württemberg pattern of kokarde. The Reich kokarde is the standard Prussian, and the difference in the kokarden is an acknowledgment of this man’s pride in his native state.

The interior has a well-preserved light brown leather sweatband. Attached to that is a complete and near-mint beige silk liner. Under the silk liner, no additional holes are present, and the original hardware is still present.

This kugelhelm is an excellent original piece in well above average condition. For more information on Württemberg and Feldartellerie regiments, you can visit the following external links:
