Wurttemberg Schirmmütze / Visor Cap for Officer in Artillerie Pre 1897
Wurttemberg Schirmmütze / Visor Cap for Officer in Artillerie Pre 1897
SKU: 33-481
This captivating artillery officer schirmütze from the Kingdom of Württemberg dates back to the pre-1897 period. It features a shorter black visor, which was typical of caps from that era. The cap's lighter blue top is complemented by a black velvet band, accented with three narrow red trim bands. Additionally, a single officer kokarde for Württemberg is present, which is correct for a pre-1897 cap.
Although there are slight traces of moth tracking at the top and sides, the cap remains in good condition. The brown leather sweatband is complete but shows signs of wear and tear due to usage. The silk liner is also complete, but there are noticeable signs of perspiration in the center where it touched the top of the wearer's head. Overall, this pre-1897 artillery officer schirmütze is a fascinating piece of history worth considering.
