This WWI-era German photo album cover is a rare surviving example of a Kriegsmarine sailor's “Kriegserinnerungen” (war memories) scrapbook. Though the interior pages are blank, the exterior is a richly decorated textile board, cord-bound in black, red, and white — the Imperial colors of the German Navy. The hand-painted cover features the Imperial war ensign above a life ring labeled “S.M.S.” (Seiner Majestät Schiff) and dated 1914–15.

The title “Kriegserinnerungen” is artistically scripted in gold ink at lower right. The interior pages are heavy cardstock with corner slots, designed for mounting photographs, documents, or field postcards. The blank state presents a rare opportunity to recreate or preserve your own themed collection of original WWI Imperial Navy materials.

Features:

  • Authentic WWI Imperial German Navy item

  • Period hand-painted cover with flag and life ring

  • Gold-lettered “Kriegserinnerungen” title

  • Retains original black, red, and white binding cord

  • Measures approx. 10.5" x 8"

  • Excellent for display or to house your own collection

Condition:
Very good overall with minor wear to edges. Binding remains firm and secure. Cover paint remains vivid with only minor age fading. The album is completely empty and ready for curation.

Collector Notes:
A desirable Imperial German Kriegsmarine relic. These albums, particularly empty and in such good condition, are seldom found. Perfect for military historians, WWI naval collectors, or anyone preserving family military service.
